The Engineering Science and Technology Park is a modern Czech centre supporting the entrepreneurial environment in the region and focussing on industrial research, technological development and innovation.
It integrates four principal functions:
The SVT Park especially focuses on the areas of engineering, power engineering, alternative resources, energy savings, geopolymers, waste disposal management and the secondary use of raw materials including recycling, bio-waste, aviation, rapid prototyping and 3D-printing. Engineering serves as a tool for research and innovation for end markets, while the SVT Park puts emphasis on the interconnection of engineering with information and communication technologies as well as specialized software.
The SVT Park was born due to the transformation of the run-down premises of a former concrete plant in the town of Buštěhrad with support from the European Union- European Fund for Regional Development, the Operation Programme Business and Innovation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade
The purpose of the SVT Park is to provide space, technologies and services to universities, scientific centres, research institutes and commercial entities, both start-ups and established ones, which want to develop and use new innovative technologies in industrial areas.
With its strategic position near Prague, occupying more than 10 000 m2 with cutting-edge technology, the SVT Park is prepared to support a high number of progressive individuals and groups, organisations and companies in their research and development, business and specialized education.
Leading research institutes and universities, such as COMTES FHT a.s. and Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Engineering, have established their external departments and education centres in the premises of the SVT Park.
The principal aim of the SVT Park is to support economic growth, science and technology development and the education level of the society.
